Description
The DIS Textile Design in Scandinavia program, developed in cooperation with Denmark's Design School, trains students in the full design process of textile prints, from initial conceptual sketches on paper to final full-size product applied on various types of textiles, and exposes the student to the history, theories, works, and current expressions of Scandinavian textile design and design in general.

The program is designed for juniors, seniors, and graduate students majoring in studio art, fashion design, and interior design, or students with other relevant backgrounds. Previous courses in the theory and history of design are recommended.

Students will enroll in two courses, Textile Design Studio and Workshop (6 credits) and Textile Design in Scandinavia (3 credits), for a total of 9 credits.

Highlights
Students will also participate in a 9-day study tour to Sweden and Finland to study prime examples of Scandinavian textile design, architectural design, and interior design.

The program also includes a number of field study visits in Copenhagen which introduce you to prime design studios, textile factories, and examples of modern Danish design.
