Term: Summer
Dates: July
Description
Long hidden behind the Iron Curtain, Prague, with its collection of Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture, is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The city has become the place for aspiring young American writers and artists to gather. In the streets, jazz musicians improvise in the open air. You can find cafes in art-nouveau settings and clubs that stay open until dawn. Students interested in international politics, history or culture will find Prague a stimulating place in which to live and study. At Charles University AIFS students take courses in English in art history, film studies, history, and political science, as well as Czech language.

The program fees include the basics and the extras: tuition, housing in a residence hall, a meal allowance, round trip flight if selected, cultural activities, an on-site Resident Director, and excursions.

Highlights
Prague is a cultural hotspot with attractions such as museums, theater, art galleries, film houses, castles and cathedrals. Students live in University residence halls with private bathroom and a direct phone line. Cultural activities include walking tours of Prague, concerts, visits to museums and palaces, wine tasting and excursions to nearby historical sites. Students participate in a 2-day London visit en route to Prague, and AIFS organizes trips to Moravia; Krakow, Poland; and Vienna, Austria. An on-site Resident Director coordinates the program and acts as a liaison between students and the university.
