Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world.
IES Freiburg offers stimulating academics in the heart of a university town abounding with diverse cultural opportunities. Students can enroll in courses at both the IES Freiburg Center and the renowned Albert-Ludwigs University for undergraduate study in German language, Economics, the Humanities, and the Social Sciences. All area studies courses are taught in German. The IES Freiburg Center is located just minutes from Albert-Ludwigs Universitat. Founded in 1962, the program enrolls 40 to 60 students each semester.
