ProBelize and Galen University's program combines classroom and in the field study of Belize's culture, geography, and history, a hands-on community service development project, cross cultural interaction and homestay living, and exploration of Belize.

Programs are highly supported by an onsite staff team and welcoming community partners. ProWorld, founded in 1998, is a true leader in the fields of study abroad and international development.

Your program includes: meaningful volunteer projects, guided tours of Mayan ruins, exploring rural, and traditional festivals, home stay family living, weekly adventures and 6 semester credits. Apply early to secure your position!

Highlights
Real projects...real experience! ProWorld's summer semester abroad provides a unique blend of service projects, field research, academic courses, and cultural activities. Community development projects, fieldwork, and adventure activities complement classes, creating an integrated program understanding and a rewarding study abroad experience.

Excursions include: weekly adventure and cultural activities, tour of the Xunantunich and Mayan ruins, rainforest and cave exploration, remote community cultural events and river canoeing and/or river tubing. This truly is a trip of a lifetime!

- Intensive group orientation - 6 semester credits, fees, & transcripts from Galen University - Academic classes four to five days a week - Airport pick up in Belize City - Full room and board with a local family - Funding of development project - Visits to Archeological sites, weekend hikes, and cultural activities - 24 hour emergency contact on site - Regular staff check ins and access to ProBelize office in San Ignacio Program fees do not include: international airfare, passport or visa fees, textbooks, insurance, independent travel during the program, or personal expenses. Program fees may change without notice due to currency exchanges and the unique nature of international travel.
